Dynamics 365 Business Central 2021 Wave 1 Release
This D365 Business Central 2021 Wave 1 Release delivers faster productivity, simplified administration and improved collaboration with Teams.
Earlier this year, Microsoft announced a range of new features for Dynamics 365 Business Central. These updates were rolled out between April and September 2021. They form part of the Dynamics 365 Business Central 2021 Wave 1 Release.
Dynamics 365 Business Central is an integrated Cloud financial solution for small and medium-sized businesses. For this wave 1 release, Microsoft focused on delivering faster productivity, simplified administration and improved collaboration with Microsoft Teams. We detail what’s new below.
Updates to Dynamics 365 Business Central 2021 Wave 1 Release
- Corrections for general ledger entries: The new features allow users to easily correct dimensions for general ledger (G/L) entries. This ensures your financial reporting provides you with accurate insights, without the need to make notes of temporary data entry mistakes.
- Assisted Setup Guide: Microsoft have introduced an assisted setup guide to make the process easier for adjusting item costs. This new assisted setup feature enables you to schedule Job Queue for adjusting costs in the background.
- Bank Reconciliation improvements: With this improvement, you can cancel a bank reconciliation that was posted with mistakes. This was previously not possible.
- More control over dimensions values: Release wave 1 brings more control over dimension values to increase accuracy and provide better insights. The Correct Dimensions action lets you correct dimensions on posted entries by editing the dimension value, adding new dimensions, or removing them.
- Run reports in the background: Users can increase their productivity by not having to wait for reports to be completed. Instead, once initiated, reports run in the background, enabling you to continue working within other areas of Business Central. When a report is ready, the user is notified.
- Access Business Central Contacts in Teams: Release wave 1 enables you to utilise Business Central contacts within Microsoft Teams, without having to open another solution. You can immediately start a call with a Business Central contact within Teams.
Wave 1 Release Summary
The new features outlined above are free to organisations who hold an active subscription to Dynamics 365 Business Central.
